Obesity is a pato-physiological condition characterized by accumulation of body fat, which is associated with the metabolic syndrome, a group of metabolic disorders including insulin resistance, glucose intolerance, atherogenic dyslipidaemia, high  blood pressure, and increased expression of thrombotic and pro-inflammatory markers.

In this context my research is focused on the study of energy balance regulation and metabolic adaptative changes of the whole organism and individual organs in response to different stimuli related to food consumption, in an animal model.
